Lainie Jenkins is the founder of Yoga Essence. After 20 years of dance and aerobics led her towards yoga. Lainie discovered yoga in 2002 and in 2005 completed her Internationally Certified 200hr Level One ISHTA training with Rachel Zinman at Byron Bay, Australia. At this time Lainie was living and teaching in Santiago, Chile SA. Soon after she returned to Australia to further her yoga training this time completing the 300hr Advanced ISHTA training over a period of 9 months, this allowed Lainie to be taught and at the same time teach what she was learning.

Lainie founded 'Yoga Essence, ISHTA Yoga Centre, South America' in Santiago, Chile SA in 2006. She continued to pass on her passion for yoga and life in Chile until returning to Australia at the end of 2009.
Lainie's dance and aerobics background is obvious in her teaching style, playful sequences focusing on correct alignment for the individual, connecting the body and breath to strengthen and open the body from the inside out to restore peace to the heart and mind.
Lainie is currently the Les Mills Body Balance Trainer for QLD combining her expertise in Yoga and Pilates with Tai Chi developing instructors. She teaches Body Balance at Fitness First Carindale, Fitness First Wynnum and Goodlife Morningside.
